I think I might like it better than this old dusty lj. The short entry lengths leave more to the imagination an prevent me from feeling like an internet windbag. also there is so many cool people to follow. Really, Twitter is fucking dumb but its the future now and I say fuck it. at the end of the day most of the internet is fucking stupid but we use it anyways. We're all drawn to it for some reason. Studio so far

So here it is up to date:

We have done the three guitars, bass, and drums for 14 songs.
Vocals and overdubs for three of those.
Today we hired a mariachi band to come in and play on the light and it went okay... we have a lot of cleaning up to do to their parts.
Now i have 11 vocal tracks left. which sucks.
annnd over dubs on those songs.

So much work done and so much left!
We have today and tomorrow left.
11 hours of work a day consistently since Thursday and continuing into tomorrow.

Also we have a halfpipe in our lounge which i mastered.
I love skating!
I also skated the half pipe stark naked! WOO! LIFE ON THE EDGE! ROCKSTAR LYFE WOO!

2)recording the rest of the pachamama album this week

4)Going to see an apartment today since my house deal went sour!
5)Recording in Sacramento starts next Thursday!
6)Must find last band for the Studiofix, Brown and Blue, Joyce Manor show next month.
7)Want to travel again.
8)solidify gameplan for after tracking the Brown and Blue record

The show last night ruled! CTL was so good my nose bled as I walked in the room. Joyce Manor was soooooooo fun. The other bands were all good for sure but no one got me too stoked besides comadre.

Got to hang out with good people and had a great time. A+ weekend!

Played a last minute show at Biko last night. So FUN!
Then woke up at 6AM to play on Snagletooth on KCSB. So FUN!

Yesterday we got a phone call from the glass puppets to do an impromptu show in Costa Mesa so we did. It was fun. This whole past weekend was ridiculous and it was way too much destroying of our own bodies.

In the upcoming weeks we have
-2 shows
-a lot of practice for sure!
-a trip to sacramento to record!
-get gear in tip top shape for recording

not to mention the steady full-time job i have now...

might not look like that much written down but it is.

Tomorrow I head north yet again for good times and gooder friends!

So, Brown and Blue will be recording a new album starting on april 16th.
5 days of tracking at the hangar in sactown!
then days of over dubs at our producers house in van nuys then we'll mix it there too.
We somehow ended up with Thom Monahan producing this record which is going to be SO fun. He did all the Vetiver records, Devendra's Cripple Crow, Engineered on the Little Joy record, and his first paid recording gig was a live GG Allin recording. Pretty much, he fucking rules, right?

Now he will record brown and blue!
FUUUUUUUUUN!

Simon got me drunk very early yesterday.
I got to see Nancy and Stacey and Patty briefly last night but i was so tired i ended up leaving a show early to eat and pass out.

I got an internship at an awesome studio! right now we're working on the new built to spill album. it sounds great! I'm sort of the bitch of the studio.... "go get that" "clean this" but its a start and I get to observe and learn from a great producer/engineer (my boss) and watch good musicians record good records! I'm doing well, and they say they like me a lot there so this is awesome.

Built to Spill are nice and super good in the studio and their new songs are good.

Calico Days starts the album at my studio this Saturday it seems. This should be fun and sound really good.

Brown and Blue will be waiting for spring break to end. I want to buckle down and really record an album. Take the engineering on it more serous and work hard on it for a month or so!
